When Is The Battle of Evermore, Scroll Two: The Guardian of Evermore Coming Out?
This has, by far, been the most asked question since the release of The Seventh Son. And I can’t tell you how much that means to me.
Knowing so many of you connected with Evermore and its characters — and are eager to return — makes every late night at the keyboard worth it. Thank you.
Now… the honest answer.
When I finished The Seventh Son, I was riding a wave of adrenaline. I truly believed I could turn around and write the sequel quickly.
But I was quickly reminded that writing doesn’t work that way.
The first book took years to grow from an idea into a fully realized world. And while Scroll Two won’t take as long as that original journey, I am sure you’d agree, it deserves the same care and attention to detail.
Evermore is planned as a trilogy — with additional spin-off stories that weave through the same timeline and mythology. Characters, histories, and events ripple across multiple arcs. That means every decision in Scroll One — and now in Scroll Two — doesn’t just affect this book… it echoes into what comes after, and after that.
Building that kind of interconnected world takes patience. It takes planning. And it takes stepping back sometimes to see the larger picture before moving forward again.
As both a writer and a reader, I owe it to you — and to myself — to take whatever time is necessary to get it right.
Rather than forcing a sequel that falls short, I’m taking the time to deepen the plot, strengthen the arcs, and ensure that when we return to Evermore, it feels earned.
In the meantime, to keep the creative juices flowing while I further parse out the Evermore universe, I’ve been working on a very different project, The Last Encore — a fictional story about five young musicians chasing stardom in the 1980s rock scene. Though the story is fiction, because I personally spent a great deal of time in that world, it allows me to pull back the curtain on the highs, the excess, the brotherhood, and the reality of chasing a dream during one of music’s most electric eras while keeping the story authentic and rooted in reality. I hope when it comes out, you’ll enjoy it as much as you do the Evermore saga.
Trust me: Evermore isn’t going away.
The Guardian of Evermore is coming.
It just needs the time required to become the story it’s meant to be.
Thank you for your understanding, support, and patience.
